#KEXTour2018: Exploring the cuisine of Cagayan de Oro (Day 2)
Recap: we visited 4 excellent restaurants yesterday. We had Bigby's, Cucina Higala, Pane e Dolci, and Boy Zugba. They all serve great foods for reasonable prices. And they all have distinguished cuisine that one will keep coming back for.
To continue, Day 2 had more surprises for us. More foods, more stories, and more burping on our way. Here I highlight the best of Day 2
Let's eat! Let's do this!
Krispy Kreme
First stop: Krispy Kreme. Located within the Limketkai Center area, Krispy Kreme is everyone's favorite donut shop. Original glazed donut and the game is over (not to mention the variety of other great donut options you could get).
Krispy Kreme is usually crowded with students, young professionals, and adults compromising their blood sugar level. Good news: the store has new sets of donuts only this Christmas. They come in different flavors and shapes but still loyal to that unique Krispy Kreme style.
There's a reason why Krispy Kreme made it this far all the way from the US. Needless to say, we all love their donut options. For Muslims, this store is generally pork-free.

Chingkeetea
Second stop: Chingkeetea. Located at Velez Corner Gaerlan Street, Chingkeetea is Cagayan de Oro's favorite milktea place. Their option of milktea is wide-ranging but one can never go wrong with their Wintermelon. It's my personal favorite (actually, I think it's everyone's favorite).
Tracing back the history of the milktea house, it's inspiring how it has grown from a small quirky shop to an awarding winning shop.
The interior of the shop is totally instagrammable. It has both classic and classy twist with the decors (also fun and colorful). For Muslims, their milkteas are halal.
Try Chingkeetea now where every cup is a new story. Follow them here.
Mykarelli's Grill
Third stop: Mykarelli's Grill. Located at the Uptown Area, the exquisite cuisine of Mykarell's can be found in several places. They offer a variety of meals but I suggest to try their Filipino dishes. Fiesta feels when we dined in.
This branch in Uptown has a special ambiance about it. The breeze that blows in while dining gives a homey feeling.
Their interior is has a local touch to it I appreciate the use of indigenous materials. For Muslims, you have to ask for a pork-free meal.
Truly, every day is fiesta in Mykarelli's. Check them out here.
Sam Gui Grill K-style Grill House
Fourth stop: Sam Gui Grill. Located along Corrales Avenue, Sam Gui is a haven for Korean food enthusiasts. For a reasonable price, you can satisfy your cravings for an authentic K-food.
The place is small but it's enough. Might find your future lover here (just like in the K-dramas).
Plus, they have a ref full of Korean popsicle goodies. Tried the melon one and I liked it. Make sure it's melon, baka wala pala. For Muslims, make your identity be known so they won't serve you pork meals.
So, oppa and unnie, visit them now. Follow them here.
Seda
Fifth stop: Seda Hotel. Located at Claro M. Recto Ave., Seda is one of your options for a quality and fancy stay in CDO. Our group was lucky to witness their Stellar: A Christmas LIghting event.
It was inspiring to hear the efforts of the hotel partners in making positive changes to the life of special people.
Book your next stay at Seda. Check their room and rates here.
Superstar KTV Loung and Club
Sixth stop: Superstar KTV. Located at 3F Cagayan Town Center, Superstar has a fancy and elegant atmosphere. It's perfect for both club-goers (not me) and desperate singers (admittedly me).
Superstar has also superstar food options. Chicken wings were superb!
If you are into belting out high notes, their karaoke sound system has excellent quality. For Muslims, since this is a club, don't go. But if you want to just sing, then go ahead and try their karaoke.
Call now for reservations. Check them out here.

Day 2 was another day full of discovery. And this is also a wrap for me since I had to miss some part but overall, it was an exciting experience for me. The restaurants, cafe, KTV house, milktea house, and others were just small slices of the CDO food cuisine. For sure, I will go back to these establishments.
