Under the Snow for the First Time

Image
Every exchange student from a tropical country (such as the Philippines) would have to agree with me when I say that winter in the US is the best part of the exchange year. Snow was everywhere. (L: Outside the house. R: Outside the school) I remember my exchange year three years ago and my first snow experience. It was so cool, literally. It was late in November at Troy Mills, Iowa and the days had been gloomy since after my birthday (November 7). Lynette, my host mom, advised me to wear my heavy coat under my also heavy sweatshirt that day because weather forecast reported that it might snow. So, I did what I was told, but the news was not new to me at all. I was skeptic about snowing since there had been same news before and it didn’t snow, causing my great disappointment. As usual, the sky was dark and the surrounding was bleak, just the way it should be in Iowa in November. Frost was stuck on windows. The cool wind worked its magic in freezing me. 5 Reasons Why Sara Should Visit Iligan City

Sara is someone I know who lives in Iowa, United States of America. She is my friend's foster mom. I have known her for an about a year which is why I know she's an amazing lady. Let me tell you that Sara loves adventure and traveling. I can tell because she had been to many of the states of US. Too bad though that I didn't get the chance to travel with her during my one-year stay in Iowa. Now, last week she commented on my Iligan blog "I want to visit!". There are a number of incredible churches here (Iligan) where she can visit. Apparently, she would enjoy exchanging testimonies about God's miracle. Sara c...

What I wanted most back then was to get away from school. But never in my wildest imagination that I will get away for real. Never had I dream of going out of the country and step into the "Land of Opportunities". But yes, I have been to the U.S. of A. I know it's impossible for a not-so-rich kid like me because now I myself can not believe it. However, it happened and it's one of the "bestest". I don't even know if there is a word "bestest", but that's how would I describe it.  So, I am Johnson "John" Badawi and this is the story of my adventure in America. So the story goes like this:  Back in my junior days, my friends and I loved to skip classes. I would make any excuses just to get out of class and I think I was a genius for it because it was always effective. So...
